Event: Cerritos Honda Toy Drive & Car Show V.1

.

Tis’ the season for giving, and what better way to kick off the holidays than with a toy drive & car show?  December 12th marked Norm Reeves Honda’s 5th annual toy drive and car show and, much like last year, it was a great turnout.  I grabbed my toy donations and dropped by pretty early;  luckily, most of the entrants were already setup so I was able to get some good coverage.  There was a bit of everything on display and more S2000s than I think I’ve ever seen in one place before (definitely not a bad thing).  In this first post I’m going to focus on just S2000’s, and I’ll follow up with the rest of the lot.  If I missed your car, my apologies, I was in a rush to get back to work.  Click past the break for more.

.

I remember seeing this (bagged?) one on Honda-Tech awhile ago.  It was like a hater-magnet; but if you’re all about insane wheel fitment, then I don’t think I’ve seen a better example than this.

A view from the front shows how the car sits when parked.  Crazy low.

.

.

Gives you an idea of how much the rear fenders had to be stretched.

.

Pastel inspired 5-Zigens?

This was probably one of my favorite from the show.  It looks great, and it looks functional.  RPF1’s are a classic wheel for S2000’s, and the fitment on these is perfect.

.

.

The organizers did a good job fitting all the cars into the average sized lot.  They had all the S2000’s grouped together which was cool.

This car got my attention real quick.  I’m a sucker for mis-matched wheels, and saw this right away….

.

.

…and when I got closer I saw he  was rolling on Nitto NT-01’s.  I wonder if these are used daily?!

.

.

It was turbocharged too!  Seems like it would be a blast to drive.

.

.

The S2000 from the first picture.  Very well put together.

.

.

From the side.  A handful of the S2000’s were from Top Down.  I had never seen any of their cars before, but they are really nice.

.

.

I was busy taking photos of Anthony’s NSX (next feature) while most of the S2000’s rolled in, and when I made it back to take photos of these guys, the harsh morning sun made it’s debut.  Half of the lot was covered in this intense light, and half was still in shade, making it difficult to shoot.  I’ve always liked this color blue!

.

.

I saw this guy come up the driveway and right away liked the style; especially the large GT style wing.  Another really clean build.

.

.

I wonder if this has the power to back up it’s aggressive styling?  Not my taste, but you have to applaud the effort.

This guy got here just as I was leaving.  I would have liked to get some more shots of it; not only because it was Spoon-tastic, but because there weren’t many black s2k’s there, and it’s my favorite car color.  That does it for part 1. Check back soon to see the rest of the show.
