Event: Tokyo Auto Salon 2011 v.5

.

I have a feeling this last installment is going to be filled with R35 goodness.  Mine’s, Endless, HKS, Option; they all had GT-R’s on display, and they were all fantastic.  For a closer look at the Mine’s built GT-R pictured above, check out Taka’s video @ JDM Clips.  This thing is pushing out near 800hp.  Although this may be the last ‘walk around’ TAS post, I’ll have a few more specific shots coming soon however.  It’s kind of sad to see it come to an end.  Click past the break to see more of the final coverage post from Tokyo Auto Salon.

.

Subaru had a really cool display.  The theme was ‘Proud of Boxer’; referring to, of course, the Subaru Boxer engine.  They had a few OEM models on display, as well as a handful of rally spec cars – like this WRX.

.

.

They also had this mean GT-spec machine on display.  If there wasn’t such a huge crowd gathered around I would have taken at least a dozen photos of this thing.

.

.

Here is a generic look at the other side of the booth.  You can just barely see the top of the GT car on the left.  They had a stage to the right of that with guest speakers.  Can anyone tell me who is being recorded on the screen?

.

.

Over at the Nissan booth, they had the debut of the now available, in Japan, Nismo tuned GT-R RC.  The RC stands for ‘Racing Competition’, and it’s no exaggeration.  Tuned by Nissan’s official in-house tuner and Nismo, this RC model was developed specifically for track use.  So what is so ‘track’ specific about it?  How about a FIA- spec welded roll cage, 120 liter fuel cell, and air jacks (yes, air jacks).  Crazy stuff.  I don’t want to know how much it costs…

.

.

They also had the new Nismo tuned 370Z.  We actually got to sit in this thing, and while it may seem like a regular 370, it’s actually quite different.  If anybody is feeling generous, I’ll take one please.

.

.

Axell had this insanely wide GT-R on display.  If you have the February edition of Option, they have an article about the making of this kit.

.

.

The HKS GT-R was one of my favorite.  I think I’m starting to like the stock-car style painted tires.

.

.

The Esprit tuned R35.  Tasteful, not overdone at all.

.

.

Tommy-Kaira’s take on the R35.  Excellent to say the least.

.

.

A closer look at the titanium exhaust tips, and colored carbon diffuser.

.

.

The G-Works booth was awesome.  A ton of old-school rides, and they were set-up right next to the Rocky Auto display.

.

.

The guys working there were cool as well.  Free stickers and t-shirts made my day.  I slapped a G-Works OLDxNEW Energy! sticker on my dash when I got home.

.

.

Not entirely sure what company this was, but their LS was nice.  It was equipped with air suspension, and the guy was demo-ing it for us.  I waited until it was at its lowest to snap a shot.

.

.

Endless had this sweet R35 on display, as well as a ton of brake components.  You can see the little booth behind the GT-R where they were having a Japan style bingo raffle type deal.  I lost, but the gal gave me a key-chain anyway.  Maybe I have a nice smile.

.

.

A nice set-up here.

.

.

CR-Z from Kakimoto Racing.  Nice fellows at the booth.

.

.

I was pretty excited to see a 4 6’s kit in person, and the example couldn’t get more extreme than this.

.

.

A street inspired hatchback for sure.  It might have had more vinyl than sparkle paint.  It was sitting on some pretty questionable wheels though.

.

.

A closer look at the….Latino inspired wheels?  Help me with this one Adolfo…I actually kind of like it!  Any car with the Rocket Bunny aero is a winner in my book.

.

.

St. Garage had their mildy tuned Axcent on show.  This is one car I wouldn’t mind owning if we ever get something like it state-side.

.

.

This might have been the last car I saw at the show, so I’ll end with it.  The STi from AME on some hot pink rollers – looks good to me.  Thanks for keeping with me the past two weeks.

Good job Shizz. The coverage is getting progressively better IMO. Everytime Britt comes over, she catches me on NDF and thinks we’re ricers.
