Event: Speedventures/Hontune Fontana v.1

.

Here is some general coverage of the track day/car show at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana.  Even though it seemed like the track was dominated by S2000’s, I was pleased to see a wide variety of cars present; especially at the autocross track.  Although my preference has always leaned toward Japanese manufacturers, I am a fan of all cars in general.  There were many Euro cars that I shot too, but seeing as how this blog is geared toward Japanese performance, I’ll stick to that.  Check out more below.

.

You can see the wide variety of cars in the background of this shot, all lined up for there turn at the twists.  It was clear the the little Miata Roadsters were dominate at autocross; out classing even the more powerful Subarus.

I don’t know if this civic ever went out on track, but it certainly looked good sitting in the lot.  It’s not everyday you come across a clean civic of this generation.  This one is real clean.

.

.

Over the past year or so I’ve developed an Evo obsession.  Although I like the 8’s and 9’s better, this 10 instantly caught my eye.

.

.

Looked like it was doing pretty good out on the course too.

.

.

ACTION!

.

.

I was digging this stripped out hatch too.  All business.

.

.

Even the Bisimoto drag CR-Z got in on the action.  It was pretty funny to see the chute flapping around in the wind.

.

.

Over at the first set of garages, some cars for the Hontune show were just starting to show up.  Mike said he was having trouble convincing people to come out due to the weather.  It actually ended up being a really nice day. Cold, and windy, but no rain.

.

.

I started wandering around the different garages checking out the road cars.  This was towards the end of the first garage.  Looks purpose built!

Rock Honda S2000

.

.

Thought this shot was pretty sweet.  All white, lined up in a row.  The one on the far end was a CR.

.

.

S2000 mania!

.

.

Oh those European cars are always breaking down…just kidding.

.

.

Back around to where Hontune was going on, more cars were starting to show up.  I saw that Ferio out on the track; looked pretty fun!

.

.

The famous blue four door, as clean as ever.  I liked the new wheels.

.

.

.

.

Pretty clean looking Type R on TE’s.

.

.

This people mover was really cool, and low!  Is this a stock color?

.

.

This cleaned up Accord had some great wheel fitment.  You can see the garage that the vendors were at in the background.

I wrapped my day up at Fontana with a plate of tacos from Kogi.  I had to wait in line for about 30 minutes, but it’s always worth it.  I sought out refuge in my girlfriends S2000, blasted the heater, and headed home.  This is an event I’d definitely attend again.
