Thought I’d break up the photos from the 2011 Mugen Circuit Challenge with a closer look at Mugen’s attempt at the Honda FN2; Europe’s offering of the Civic Type-R. I remember when this model was released it garnered mixed opinions among the Honda community. After giving it a few years to soak in however, I think I kinda like it. Not only is it a very unique chassis design, it seems to be quite rare as well. Let’s check out how Mugen modified it.
The mild aero treatment is extremely good looking. Mugen gives it that aggressive track look, while still managing to retain it’s OEM lines. I especially like the front fenders.

Looking at the profile you can see how ‘European’ this hatchback really is! It sort of reminds me of a Clio, or other similar hatches.

The Mugen GP Forged wheels match the white exterior perfectly. I like this shot; lined up with the FD2 on silver GP’s. Which do you prefer?

A shot from the rear as the FN was leaving to go rip up Tsukuba 1000. I like the flush exhaust in the bumper – ha! As I’m writing this I glanced down at my J’s Racing calender, and for the month of March there’s a shot of their FN2! Coincidence? Hope you enjoyed the shots from JDM Clips!
