Let’s get on with some more Wekfest LA coverage from Long Beach, CA. I ended up writing this entire post before I even wrote the introduction. I never know how to start off the second part of event coverage. This second part has a huge variety of cars, which is pretty cool, but it made it look kind of sloppy. The grass section was gigantic and hard to cover methodically, so my pictures are a bit scattered. At this point I was also running purely on Red Bull and Skittles, so it’s likely that I got a little sidetracked. Oh well, enjoy.
FFtec had brought out two killer drag Evo’s. They had a nice shady spot under some trees, which meant none of my pictures of the cars came out halfway decent.
.
I hope the E-brake on this R35 was set firmly. To be honest, I wasn’t really feeling it too much. I like R35’s to be built with circuits in mind, and this build seems to reflect more of a luxury feel. Doesn’t seems right to me. Maybe it’s the white HRE’s (at least I think they’re HRE’s).
.
I saw a few bays that had a graffiti motif – this one was cool because it was single cam. Again, not my style, but creative none-the-less. It garnered a lot of attention; so much that I couldn’t get a full shot of the car until later in the day.
.
This Z33 was across form the Crooks booth. Lots of slammed 350’s at this event.
.
That yellow hatch behind it has the graffiti’d, single cam bay. Next post I’ll have a shot of it.
.
When Nissan announced that we’d be getting the Cube I thought for sure within months I’d see modified ones driving around everywhere I went, simliar to the xB. That wasn’t the case though. I rarely see a modified Cube, which is a bummer because I like them much better than the Scions.
.
This one on custom colored XD-9’s was looking pretty cool. Like a driving refrigerator….get it?
.
Root beer Altezza on Work VS-XX. The matching brownish carbon hood is pretty sweet. The red lugs and red sticker throw me off a bit though.
.
This wagon was pretty dope. I don’t understand why the owner would keep the hood scoop though if he upgraded to a FMIC? Subaru hood scoops are ugly.
.
You can see this green Celica parked next to the wagon in the last pic. I was scoping it out and noticed how close he cut it on the fitment of his wheels. Not sure I’d want my caliper that close.
.
I try to always be positive about others builds even if I don’t like them, but sometimes I just have to voice my true opinion. I do not like this. A lot.
.
There was quite a few TL’s and TSX’s at the show – which is awesome because I am looking into getting one for a daily in the near future. Seeing all the wheel options got me thinking. I saw a black TSX on white TE-37’s that looked fantastic. This TL on old Equips is a good look too.
.
Another dumped Z33.
.
Violent Running Tribe. I wonder if he drives like this.
.
Color changing Soarer. I like HKS cam gears.
.
I’m sure this X is familiar to you all. The EP that’s parked next to it looks like he spilled white out all over his hood.
.
Classic look.
.
Old Cressida on what I think are Eurolines? Different look…
.
I really like this iS on Prof’s. Ever since the Miester gained in popularity, you don’t really see to many SP1’s around.
.
.
This LS400 was gangster. I took a billion shots of it, but I’ll spare you. I can honestly say, this is the first time I’ve ever seen a set of Work VS-GS in person. They look f’ing excellent. Screw the TSX, maybe I’ll get a LS for my daily.
.
Cool looking FJ. I felt obligated to take a shot of this because I have friends that drive them.
.
I talked to the owner of this for a few minutes. I think their team was Socal Infinity or something. Something about it makes it look stock; like it could be an OEM Sport option. I couldn’t put my finger on it.
.
There weren’t too many 96-00 civic coupes at the show, which kind of bummed me out; just a little though because I’m still recovering from all the Honda’s at Eibach. I think I counted two total. This one was on a set of custom Volks and had custom colored Spoon calipers.
.
Just what you’d expect from Plus 1. It always takes a couple days for coverage to pop up on the internet, but when it does it’s massive. Be sure to check out all the other blogs and forums for some great shots as well! I’ll be back again with the third part of my coverage soon. Some really good builds will be included so be sure to check back. Here’s a little preview…
