Event: ノスタルジックカー Skyline Festival 2011 @ Fuji Speedway v.2

.

Before I continue the coverage of the Skyline Festival, I figured I’d post up a walk around of the visitor’s lot, so you can get an idea of the caliber of the cars that weren’t in the actual show area.  As usual, you can find some pretty cool stuff in these lots, as most enthusiasts pour their hearts into their own personal cars.  You’ll see too, that even people who don’t own a Nissan can still appreciate the Skyline and what it has brought to the motorsports scene across the world.  Click past the break for more.

In the beginning of the day I’m sure that the entrance to Fuji Speedway was worse than the 405 shutdown last week; the only difference is the traffic at Fuji was much nicer to look at.

Check out the fender aero on this 2000GT-RS!  Strange…

.

.

The visitors lot looked like a show in itself.  Just in this shot alone there are 4 different model Skylines!

.

.

A rear shot of the opening GTR.  Looks like he’s had some work done at Midori.

.

.

The R32 that it was parked next to.  Looking old school with those two-piece 5 spokes.

.

.

.

How about this KPGC-10 GTR for old school.  I wonder if it still has the original 6 cylinder S20? You gotta love the fine touches that Nissan adopted early on, like the rear bumper lights.

.

.

R34 on BBS LM’s; can’t go wrong at all.  The R34 really was the sledgehammer of Skylines – brute strength with little consideration to size.

..

I really like the color on this C110.  I wonder if it was an OEM color?  If it was, I wonder if this is original paint?!  Looks good regardless.

.

.

Ah, but you don’t have to own a Skyline to park here!  As this S30 demonstrates for us.  Interesting front lip! In fact, you don’t have to own a Nissan at all…

.

.

If you drive an Evo like this you can command attention no matter what meet you attend!  The flat satin green is an eye catcher for sure, and it’s matched perfectly to the matte black wheels with gold lugs.  But if the subtle, aggressive look isn’t your style, how about something a little more….

.

.

…bright?  The owner couldn’t decide what he liked better, so he threw on a set of orange RPF1’s on the other side.  The best of both worlds – which do you like better?  Alright, that’s it for the visitor lot walk around.  I’m catching an early flight to Vancouver tomorrow, so I won’t be able to post the rest of the coverage until the weekend.  Thanks for stopping by.  Stay fast!
