C-h-e-c-k. Check. OK, my keyboard still works. Holy shit I’m tired. Two nights before Nisei I was stuck at work for 23 hours straight. Yeah that’s right, 23. I never fully recovered, so on the morning of the show I was hating my life. I remember a fairly large line when gates opened last year, so this year I showed up pretty early and to my surprise come 11 o’clock, there was only about 15 people behind me. I guess it must have picked up throughout the day though because people were saying the turnout was good. I had stuff to do in Westwood a little past 1 o’clock so I figured I had around 2 hours to take care of business; Wakayama Ramen lunch included. Click past the break for part one of however many Nisei posts I feel like making out of the 400 pictures I took.
Downtown LA makes a great backdrop for the show. For those not familiar with the area, this is on First street looking West toward Downtown. It’s actually kind of entertaining to see all the slammed cars roll down this street scraping their exhausts on the broke-ass pavement.

This guys car seems to always be posted up in a good spot (near the entrance or something). You’d think I’d know him by now with the amount of times I’ve shot his civic. No complaints though; I really like it.
.
These cars were no where near the entrance. I’ve stopped trying to organize my posts – it’s going to be a random parking spot free for all. I’ll have some singles of each of these later.
.
Chewing gum inspired 350? I’m pretty sure those are anodized VIP Modular wheels on both the Z and the 3-series.
.
Trueno that is usually parked at the Infinit Wheels booth. 114.3×4 masters.
.
Another 86 at the Infinit booth. Cool to see it on these wheels – I actually have a set for my Tamiya RC Levin coupe.
.
I’ve always liked this FC. It looks especially good on the SSR Comps.
.
.
This was maybe around 1130 and it was still pretty empty, save for the people who had booths.
.
Super clean EK9 – I was on a mission so I didn’t bother to see if it was real or not. Anyone?
.
This guy is a West Coast show regular. If you haven’t seen this EG yet then I’m jealous of you because you’ve been asleep way too long.
.
This Miata was a definite ‘like’ in my book. I was really into the retro styled accessories.
.
A look down the first row of cars. Lots of old school Toyotas – and one really, really expensive new one.
.
Switching gears. Here is a clean Subaru from Hybrid. The license plate is forum funny.
.
Narita Dog!
.
This NSX was looking pretty fancy on some gold Advans.
.
Another Miata that was there from Project-G. I liked the canvas tops on these two.
.
Here is a really crappy picture of this 4-door. I liked it though so I thought I’d post it up anyway.
.
This 240 is all sorts of win. I wish I had gotten more shots of it. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for it in the future. If you’re the owner and you read this – email me. Please?
.
Cool S2000 that was parked along the side fence. So cool in fact that I made it hi-res for you. Click the image for a 1280 file.

A shot of the Infinit Wheels booth.
.
Awesome. More on this later.
.
Equally awesome. You seriously cannot go wrong with a set of Work Eurolines if you have a VIP styled ride.
.
Mike G’s TANK parked in the GENERATIONS line-up that the Chronicles organized. More of this later.
.
I just got my car detailed, and the paint looks no where near as good as the paint on this iconic EK9.
.
Love this coupe.
.
Engine and all. I’ll have some more shots from the Chronicles booth area in the coming posts.
.
Another shot of the Infinit Wheels Trueno.

2011 is the year of Domo swag – for real. That dude is everywhere now. I’ll leave it at that for part 1 because I can barely keep my eyes open. Look forward to part 2 tomorrow where we’ll see more cars and a little of what I had to eat. Excitement!
