Event: Nisei Showoff 2011 v.3

.

It seems like I can never fully finish posting coverage of a show before it’s considered old news.  I guess with Motion going on today, I’d better hurry up and post the last installment of my Nisei coverage.  So let’s get started with this famous ATS built hatchback.

.

The mag blue Volks go with the greyish-blue exterior quite well.

.

.

An equally spectacular hatchback build, with a little bit different choice in engine setup.

.

.

This is probably my favorite EK build to date.

.

.

Despite the amount of problems that come with it, the C.O.P. setup seems to be catching on rather quickly.

.

.

One more shot.

.

.

Another show favorite from DPK.

.

.

I’ve always liked this CRX; it looks so purpose built.

.

.

.

Another ATS favorite.  There is always a crowd around this car wherever it goes – I was lucky I got there fairly early to avoid the mob.

.

.

.

Sheepy’s S2K.  This one’s going down in the history books for sure.

.

.

From what I understand, this bay/car wasn’t 100% complete.  I think even if it is still a work in progress, it’s probably cleaner than most stuff you see.

.

.

.

Track ready sedan.

.

.

Best of Show winning HKS themed Altezza.

.

.

Here’s something you don’t see too often outside of Japan.  Normally I’m not  huge fan of US built RX-8’s, but this one was pretty clean.

.

.

New-School!

.

.

The Fontana Nissan GTR – clever number…

.

.

It’s JDM Yo! x Air Runner DJ booth.  Do you recognize the F-swapped Toyota?

.

.

Although I’m not a huge fan of the wheel choice and size, this has to be one of the nicest Datsun builds stateside.

.

.

Meh, why not?  Living in LA I see these more than I probably should…

.

.

The Toyota heavy side.  This gravity hampered Prius started the line-up.

.

.

Gymkhana built Nissan.

.

.

One last look at the grounds before I split to go get some food.

.

.

There was evidence of show-goer’s all around Little Tokyo and the plaza area.

.

.

I watched this guy from across the street for a good 5 minutes.  I drifted off for a second and actually thought I was in Japan.  The Japanese Red Cross Society actually has a mascot that looks fairly similar (actually, no where near similar but that’s what I was reminded of when I saw it).  I came across her one day while in Yokohama, I think her name is Kenketsu-chan.  I’ll try to find a picture.  I know you’re all just dying to see it…

.

.

.

I got a hold of myself though and decided I was overdue for some calories.  I was so hungry I forgot to snap a ‘before’ shot.  Oh well, hope you enjoyed the coverage.
