One random evening, after a few passes through the infamous C1, my friend from JDM Clips and I decided to cruise through to the Daikoku PA to see if there was anything going on. Unfortunately the entire parking area was closed for a reason that I can’t remember at the moment. We’re not ones to give up so easily though, and made our way to a few other spots. One smaller PA my friend had suggested we check out was located underneath the Bay Bridge – so away we went. Turns out it was a good idea because there was a good handful of RX-7’s that were meeting up there. We parked and took a stroll through the tiny lot, but didn’t really see anybody around. I think most of the owners were inside grabbing a bite to eat or a refreshment. I went back to the car, grabbed my camera and attempted to grab some decent shots in the dark lot with no tripod. I actually wanted to post these up sooner, but considering today is the unofficial day of the RX-7, it seems fitting to post now. Click past the break to see what was hiding under the bridge.

There was a surprisingly good amount of variety between the cars. Some were closer to stock form while others were more aggressively built with complete aero and GT wings.

This yellow one was a good example of one of the more aggressive cars. The riveted rear over-fenders and crazy wide, vented fenders in the front gave the car a mean look. Mag blue CE-28’s matched the yellow body quite well.

I particularly liked this red one. It was a good compromise between the two looks.

A front view that same yellow RX-7; the front being just as aggressive as the rear. I really like the front canards.

I’m open to pretty much everything when it comes to modification, especially when I’m in Japan, but I wasn’t too sure what to think about this rear wing. It looks like it’s been modified to have only one air foil instead of two. This one had some pretty crazy aero.

I like the subtle, smooth styling of this white one. Rocking a very ‘streetable; look.

The combination of a rear diffuser and GT wing is aesthetically very pleasing. Especially on the back of a FD.

This is probably my favorite shot from the evening. This one white FD was parked by itself on the side of the parking area, just under a street light. The rest of the lot was actually very dark, and I’m actually pretty good at low-light handheld shots. That low light explains the limited amount of photos.
