Event: Mitsubishi Owner’s Day – MOD 2012

.

When I think of MOD, I immediately hear “EVO”; and frankly, that’s all I need to hear.  I’ve grown to have no particular interest at all in any Mitsubishi other than their Evolution line of cars.  Not to discredit the fans and enthusiasts of Mitsubishi’s other great cars, I can definitely respect the work and passion that goes into any chassis (and there were actually some really cool builds with unique swaps), they’re just not my cup of coffee (I’m switching that saying up).  So, I’ll tell you ahead of time, the only cars you will see in this post are of EVO’s – I suggest checking out Mitsubishi forums or other blogs for full coverage.  With that said, I really enjoy MOD.  It’s one show that I have a very laid back attitude towards. and feel no pressure to show up early and stay until everyone leaves.  In fact, I rolled up over an hour after it started and had left within an hour.  Parking is never an issue because it is in the business district of Cypress and the surrounding businesses are nice enough to let show goers use their lots.  As a result of the show being sponsored by Mitsubishi itself, it is very well organized.  Let me start my post out with a shot of the Monster Sport equipped LOT USA EVO 9 – one of my favorites.  Click past the break to see more EVO’s at EVO..I mean MOD.

Another couple shots of the Lot USA EVO.  I’m sure that this has pretty much every part in the Monster catalog equipped on it.  It’s very elegant looking – if an EVO could ever look elegant.

The Tomei Powered EVO X on a set of some very shiny blue Advan RS.  I’ve always liked this car as well.  Then again, how could you not?  It’s got a Tomei Genesis engine sitting inside the engine bay.  The Tomei booth had their ARMS series of turbochargers on display similar to last year.

Road Race…Race car.

Another bright set of wheels, this time in orange flavored NT-03’s.

More Enkei NT-03’s on the EVO in front of the D-Sport booth.  The front bumper was pretty unique in the way it was cut to make the massive intercooler and radiator to fit.  I like that After Hours flame graphic.

This one was a little unrealistically low, but I still liked the look.  The C-West aero is quite aggressive.

This track X was pretty dope – also on NT-03’s.  The crooked decal on the side skirt flows well with the body lines.

By far my favorite EVO X of the meet.  I haven’t seen that many SE-37K’s on cars in the states, or any EVO for that matter, but they look absolutely amazing.  Props to this guy and hopefully he never gets rid of these wheels.

Pretty cool white EVO on polished Advans.  I’ve never seen that trunk add on that lifts the OEM spoiler.  I’m not even sure what it does; but I like it.

A row of rears.  Would be cool if there was a GT Wing equipped EVO in the line up.  Then we’d have all the options.

CCW’s on an otherwise stockish EVO 9.

.

Nice and clean.

I’ve seen this EVO at quite a few shows now, and like to follow it’s progress.  The VOLTEX aero is mad boss and can’t be beat.  Love this car.

Simple X on NT-03’s

Pretty aggressive looking EVO 9 on, yeah, you guess it, NT-03’s.  I had a good time walking around the show, but it was getting pretty hot and I had a ton of work to accomplish this weekend so didn’t stick around too long.  I snapped the things I liked this time and it was a nice change from trying to cover an entire show of this magnitude.  Anyway, hope you enjoyed the pics of NT-03 Day…errr….I mean MOD.  Thanks for visiting!

On the way back to the parking lot…A wild S2000 appears!  NDF uses photograph.  It is very effective.
