Event: AutoCon 2012 – Los Angeles V.2

.

Man, I’ve been traveling a lot lately.  I think I’ve flown about 3,000 miles in the past 3 days.  Not normal, but I’ve been really busy at work recently.  That’s probably the main reason that my coverage is so slow to come out – which I apologize for.  I think just about all the other blogs have all but finished posting pics, but I’m lagging.  I suppose that’s one of the side effects of doing this all on my own; I don’t have as much time as most people (running an airline is quite time consuming -_-;).  With that said, let me quit wasting your time and let’s power through the rest of these photos.  I’ll be making one more post after this and I’ll try to get the all edited and ready for upload in the morning.  After 3 back to back 4am mornings, I have a feeling I’m going to be sleeping in tomorrow.  I’ll start off round 2 with a few shots of this familiar Kouki S14 on Mag Blue Nismo LMGT-4’s – super clean build.  Click past the break for more AutoCon 2012.

Car show photos can get a bit redundant after awhile, so I’ve been attempting to make them a little more interesting with various lighting styles.  I’m trying to not get too carried away though and will only throw a couple of these in per post…kind of keeps me entertained as well haha.

This is perfect in so many ways…

.

.

OK, one more because it’s so excellent.

.

.

.

Very clean coupe with a purplish (grape fanta?) colored, shaved and tucked bay.  Lot’s of choice parts on this thing, and a very well chosen wheel and tire setup, all at a reasonable ride height; which is actually extremely comforting to see now-a-days.

.

.

Another shot of the IP MAN civic.  I enjoy the aluminum like canard and splitter setup in the front.

.

.

Interesting Z34.  You can see that this is still pretty early in the day.  People are still parking…

.

.

Another familiar face around California.  It’s nice to see MR2’s that are well put together.

.

.

.

It seems to always be missing the rear wing though.  I wonder if it’s a difficult piece of the TRD kit to find, or if they just like the look of it off.  It is a mystery…

By far one of the coolest cars at the show, and definitely the most ‘Japanese’, was this 1974 Datsun Bluebird SSS – brought over from Japan.  I wasn’t around for the award ceremony, but if this ting didn’t win something I’ll be shocked.  Would love to do a legit shoot of it sometime…

.

.

Another (crappy) shot of the FRS that was at the Auto Fashion booth.

.

.

.

This red S2000 on Works caught a lot of your guys’ attention on Facebook.

.

.

And if you’ve been awake at all in the past 2 months I’m sure you’ve seen the NSX with gold dipped MF10’s.

.

.

Lowest LS460 on the planet.  This thing would look awesome with some aero on it.

.

.

R35 on BBS.

.

.

Random EK on Sprint Harts.  The lot that they held the event in this year was so large that even with 400+ vehicles there was room to spare.  Even some of the vendor cars didn’t leave, making it look more like a parking lot that had a lot of nice cars in it.

.

.

EG on original recipe MF-10’s, and equipped with some BYS goodies.

.

.

Cool little Trueno I came across on Watanabe’s.

.

.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen NT-03’s on a TSX.  I’ve seen them on pretty much everything else, but not this.  Neat.

This is Leon’s 240.  I first became acquainted with this car in San Francisco at the beginning of the year during Wekfest.  Back at Fort Mason though, it was a little bit less…wide.  Since then Falken has provided him with a new wheel setup in hopes to see it on the track soon.  He’s shooting for a mild 350whp, which is a good amount for the chassis me thinks.

.

.

This is Leon.  Mostly known for his Honda builds.  Actually, if you’re in the LA area, he’ll have some out in upcoming Nisei show.  I almost wore that same Bride shirt – mines a lot older and faded though.

I’ll finish it off with a couple old schoolers.  There’s been so many events and track days the past month or so that I haven’t really even had a chance to go through a lot of my pictures from my last trip to Japan (In fact I’m already planning my next trip back in the Fall).  I have some good stuff coming your way soon from Type One, ASM, and some other cool places.  It’s important to me to get content up in a timely manner, so unfortunately, these shows take precedent over what I really enjoy posting about – Japan!  I’m also headed to Balcony this weekend to shoot some drift action – as well as a new feature.  All that plus the last post from AutoCon 2012, so stay tuned!
