Close-Up: Atsushi Shimaya’s Endless FD3S

Out of the thousands of cars at TAS, it’s always exciting to see, in person, a car you’ve followed online for years.  Every once in awhile a build will snowball into something so involved that it makes you wonder if the end result was ever really envisioned.  A perfect example of this is Atsushi Shimaya’s FD3S.

I remember first photographing this car back in 2013 at one of the Evome events.  Back then, though, it was still white and void of the majority of modifications it has done today.  Since then it’s gotten revamped from the inside out, title sponsored by Endless and has competed in 2 rounds of WTAC in Australia.  Last year, Shimaya was the 6th fastest in the ProAm class with a lap time of 1:32.961.  I was pretty stoked to get a closer look in it’s current form.  Check it out below.
