The Attack Machine Archive was created as a long-term reference for Japan’s time attack machines, drivers, builders, lap times, and the history surrounding them.
For more than a decade, I’ve documented this world through photography, writing, event coverage, personal conversations, and direct research with the people behind the cars. The archive is an extension of that work; a way to preserve information that is often difficult to find, easy to lose, or scattered across old blogs, event lists, social media posts, magazines, and private conversations.
Time attack history does not always exist in one clean place. Cars change hands, specifications evolve, lap records are replaced, websites disappear, event results go unpublished, and even current information can be difficult to confirm. The goal of this project is to place these machines in context before those details fade from view.
The app is free to use because the archive is meant to be accessible. It exists for drivers, builders, shops, fans, researchers, and anyone who cares about preserving this part of motorsport culture as much as I do.
The Archive is built and maintained independently, by yours truly. Every profile requires time researching sources, checking lap records, confirming specifications, organizing images, writing build notes, maintaining the website, hosting the API, and continuing to improve the app itself.
Purchases from the NDF shop help support that work. They help fund research, hosting, photography, travel, event coverage, and the continued documentation of Japan’s time attack history.
Thank you for supporting the archive and the preservation of the machines, people, and stories that shaped this culture.
