JDM Clips recently shot these last weekend during the live filming of Hot Version’s N2 and Advan Amateur Race at Tsukuba Circuit. The Hot Version N2 AE86 event takes place every year, and has been going on for quite some time now. This year, the Advan sponsored Fastest Amateur Tournament was combined on the same date and made for one hell of an event. Many of the cars here are the same popular builds we see plastered on the pages of Option and Option2, as well as blogs around the globe. The most popular tuners attend these ‘grassroots’ events to show off what they can do on the track. Check out what Tsukuba has to offer past the break – like more of this RE built ドラえもん FD.
.
Excited yet? Time Attack prepped cars were plastered around the pits of Tsukuba.
.
A typical walk through the paddock at Tsukuba. Looks like the drift cars were all lined up ready for a run ~
.
That would make sense, because most of the Time Attack cars looked like this. Going through final preparation before their short time out on track.
.
.
Some insane cage work…
.
.
…to match some insane foot work. Love the SL’s – and not just because they’re named after me.
.
Check out the diffuser on this FD. Custom much?
.
It’s interior was just as crazy. Custom fuel setup, gauge, and roll cage setup. Check out the fat rear strut bar too – all business.
.
.
There was more than just FD’s though. If you remember seeing my preview post and the Scorch S15, you’d know Nissan’s were fierce on location as well. I suppose this would be Suzuki-san’s rival (although lap times are far off).
.
This S14 gives way to a look that screams serious. I would beg to differ that these competitors are in any way ‘amateur’.
.
I suppose at a time attack event though, we cannot stay away from the RX7 for too long. It is one of the most popular platforms in the genre of racing. I love the mismatched wheels – and the fact that this Arios Okuyama FD is rocking the same rear wheel as the RE machine in the opening picture.
.
I was digging this R32.
.
Basically, a stock looking R34 on Volks. I can’t find anything wrong with this picture.
.
This event was awesome not just because of the attendees, but because it had both grip and drift events on the same day. How in the world could you get bored at a show off like this?
.
Street drift regulars – F.L.A.G / The Dog Fight – Kouki S14. Many of these cars were in attendance for the open drift day.
.
Also out for some fun was one of the Sexy Knights drift cars. EVA style.
.
Fool sedan with one of the cleanest 1J’s I’ve ever seen in my life. This is a really spectacular engine bay.
.
I’ve seen this guy somewhere! haha a regular at drift events. River Side – rocking a little bit different look.
.
The Drift Muscle also had an exhibition at Tsukuba before the start of their season. We all know who’s car this is…
.
.
The D-Max’s S15 older brother -a.k.a the brightest car in Japan.
.
The Drift Muscle line up – super excited to be seeing these guys in a few months!
.
Sedan smashers. Look forward to more and more and more coverage from this event – this is just the start! If you’re in need of some live action goodies, be sure to check out the JDM Clips YouTube channel. I’m happy to report that NDF will be non-stop this month! So check back often, and as always, thanks for visiting. You are what keeps this site alive!
.
Love your coverage! The blue rx-7 looks yummy.
