Onboard with Miyashita and the Tomiyoshi built FD3S at Autopolis Circuit last weekend for the first time in about a year and a half. The team used the recent KCC Qualifying event hosted by Arte Rosso, one of the last events of the season, to shake down the RX7.
With the newly tuned side ported 13B pushing 20psi, Mi was able to hit close to 250kph on the front straight. On slightly used A050, he was able to update his best time with a 1’53.2.
During the second session, a a MAP sensor wiring issue causing engine stall on the second hot lap, and a few shift cut time issues prevented the car from going faster. Overall a good end to the season, and it’s inspiring to see the FD back on track after a long hiatus. Looking forward to seeing the team in action next season.
