It’s been a little over a year since we last did an update on Komiya’s Garage Work backed EK9, and over that time a lot has changed with the Civic. A lot more weight reduction, removal of the rear brakes, new chassis processing, an entirely new dry carbon aero package, and plenty of small setup changes have all worked together to bring his overall best time down to a 56.417 – updating his B-series record and bringing him with 4 tenths of a 55 second lap. All with the same 240ps B18 that he’s been running for the past 6 seasons.
In this Machine Check! we head to Sodegaura Seaside Park in Chiba for a change in scenery from the normal Tsukuba videos. We take a close look at the EK in it’s current season specification, and then later head to the circuit to watch as he resets his record at TC2000.
