A few weeks ago, during the D1 Championship at Tsukuba Circuit, a group of enthusiasts hosted the inaugural ‘Down Force Japan’ car meeting. Down Force Japan, or DFJ for short (ironically enough the same acronym as Dogfight Japan), centered around Attack styled cars adorned with GT wings and aerodynamic focuses exterior tuning. Hosting the first event at Tsukuba Circuit’s infield was a very fitting choice of venue, given the tracks history of time attack. The event had established some pretty respectable sponsors including Voltex, Trust, Varis, Option and Web Option, so I was pretty stoked when they asked if Dogfight wanted to be a media sponsor for the event. I got in touch with Masaru and Tani at Dogfight Japan and asked if they’d be able to provide some coverage as I wouldn’t be in Japan until a week after the event.
As you know, NDF has a pretty specific look in media that I’ve curated over the years. I’m very particular in not just aesthetics, but also in what we post, how we post it, and who I associate NDF with. This would be the first time in years I wouldn’t have control over the content creation of an event we sponsor, and was an experiment for being able to expand the coverage provided on site while I’m not in Japan. In that regard, I’d like to thank Masaru, Tani, O-chan, and Ryusei for providing media for all the attendees. Wish I could have been there myself because the entry list was really good, but this is the next best thing. For an overview of the cars in attendance, check out the video below:
There were a lot of familiar faces scattered around the VERY green grass of TC2000. It’s such a contrast to see the circuit during the rainy summer months when all the landscaping is lush and vibrant; I’m so used to seeing it in the dead of winter. Enjoy the photos – if you have any questions about the builds drop a comment below.

When I first saw this event shared online I really did think that it was a Dogfight Japan event from the acronym lol. Great turnout of cars and it definitely looks like the type of cars you would see at a Dogfight meet. Awesome coverage from the boys!
