Gallery: Fuji Speedway – DKM Challenge Free Practice

This past December I made the enjoyable drive into the scenic Shizuoka prefecture to attend the DKM Challenge event at Fuji Speedway. Although the entry list was small (just 27 registered drivers), and the event was only 1 hour long, I had a free day and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to visit the iconic speedway.

I drove up the day before the event, and spent the night in Gotemba; a small town outside of Fuji Mountain. The slow pace and rustic feel of Gotemba is always a nice contrast to Tokyo. It reminds me a mountain town back home in the states. The morning of the event I made my way to the track and enjoyed the time attack event and afterwards watched some race teams practicing driver changes, pit stops, and general testing.

Check out the video for all of the event information and enjoy the gallery //

These 3 photos of Ronnie Quintarellie’s Interproto car were available to purchase as 16×20 prints at the Battlecraft art show last month.  I’m actually not sure if they sold or not, but if you’re interesting let me know and I can look into it.
